Getting prescription skincare delivered to your door involves four simple steps:

1. Place Order & Complete Digital Consult
Sign up for a Prescription Skin subscription or order a one-off bottle. At checkout, you'll be prompted to book an appointment. You will then complete our secure online questionnaire covering your skin history, goals (e.g., acne, anti-aging, melasma), and current routine, as well as uploading photos for our medical team to review.

2. Doctor Review & Prescription
An Australian registered doctor reviews your profile. If suitable, they will prescribe a custom compounded formula tailored to your specific needs (often utilizing ingredients like Tretinoin, Niacinamide, or Azelaic Acid).

3. Pharmacy Compounding
Your unique formula is freshly compounded by our partner pharmacy within 24 hours to ensure maximum potency and stability.

4. Express Delivery
We express post your treatment directly to your door anywhere in Australia. Your doctor remains available for follow-up support as your skin adjusts to the active ingredients.

Yes. Prescription skincare contains active medical ingredients (such as prescription retinoids) at higher strengths than what is legally allowed in over-the-counter (OTC) cosmetics. These ingredients are regulated by Australian law and require a doctor's prescription because they penetrate deeper into the skin to treat conditions like acne and melasma at a cellular level.

No, you do not need a referral. Our service handles the entire process online. You will complete a medical questionnaire which serves as your consultation. Our doctors review this information to ensure the treatment is safe and suitable for you before prescribing.

Prescription skin is priced at $79.00 per month, which is billed every 2 months. So, in total, your card will be charged $158.00 every two months.

If you prefer not to subscribe, you can also buy a one-off 2-month supply of Prescription Skin, which generally costs $187.00 but is currently on an introductory sale of $158.00

In most cases you can continue to use your other skincare products. Your doctor will go through this in more detail with you. We generally recommend you use Prescription Skin for about a month before re-introducing your other skincare products. We highly recommend that you add a cleanser, toner and sunscreen to your Prescription Skin routine.

All prescription ingredients carry a risk of side effects. Fortunately, the ingredients we use are generally well tolerated. We always use safe doses and start our patients on lower doses, which allows your skin to get used to the treatment. Check out our Ingredients pages for more information about possible side effects for each ingredient.

You will also receive a consumer medication information (CMI) sheet with your prescription. This will provide further details about the effects and possible side effects of each ingredient in your prescription.

In order to buy Prescription Skin you must live in Australia. We deliver to all Australian addresses using express post. When your skincare has been shipped you will receive tracking details to track the location of your Prescription Skin.‍We are also in the process of expanding into the USA, so watch this space!

Your skincare is generally made within 24 hours of your formula being finalised by our doctors. We send the prescription directly to our partner pharmacy. When it is ready it will be express posted to you. Normally, this whole process takes less than a week.

Yes! The best thing about our custom skincare formulations is we are able to tailor the prescription to your needs. Make sure you outline what your three main goals are in our questionnaire and your doctor will do their best to address all three in one bottle of Prescription Skin!

For subscribers, the consultation with the doctor is completely free.

For those ordering a one-off bottle of Prescription Skin, there is a $29.00 fee for the consultation with the doctor. However, this $29.00 fee is currently waived for your first order!

The two most common conditions we treat are fine lines/ wrinkles and acne. However, we also treat melasma, rosacea and hyperpigmentation. Visit our 'Treatments' tab to learn more.

If you need to change or cancel your appointment, simply email info@prescrptionskin.com.au or go to our 'Contact' page to send us a message. Please give us at least 24 hours' notice for changes or cancellations as our doctors are busy and we don't want anyone to miss out on an appointment.

You should have received an email with a tracking number for your Prescription Skin. If you haven't received either of these, your skincare might still be in the process of being formulated. If something doesn't seem right, please contact us at info@prescriptionskin.com.au
